May Project update

Since the last update on iNow, the project team have been busy with the completion of Discovery: hear more about this in the April update on the project blog. We have also been working on some short bursts of activity with Brand, Content, UX, Tech and Governance to define what we will be building.

Focus on Experience Principles

To achieve our key project focus, the experience and needs of our end-users, TPX Impact have created a set of Experience Principles. Kate from TPX Impact has compiled some Experience Principles. These will act as a reference point to help this large project with multiple teams working on it and ensure consistency throughout the project. Done

As we move out of Discovery, we have started four new workstreams:

  • Design Concepts – the TPX Impact Design team Yaz and Gem have been closely involved with the project since we started, so they were excited to finally begin work on the design challenge of bringing our Digital brand to life. They have been working closely with the Brand and Product teams to achieve this, and the concepts are fantastic, we all hope that you will all like them as much as we do, so keep an eye out for updates.
  • Content Strategy – Olivia, a content specialist, has scrutinised our content, IA (Information Architecture), processes and governance. This work is just coming to completion and will be the foundation for the migration of the content going forwards.
  • Define – Kate has started to work with internal teams on how we will shape the site and help users navigate it by identifying content objects and user needs. While Rich and Matt have been working with us on making the right Tech choices.
  • Governance – this is some separate time for the senior project team to ensure that the multiple workstreams align and we optimise any organisational opportunities.

Now

Continuing the workstreams outlined above, we have been reaching out to internal subject matter experts for their assistance in some of the next stages of the project:

  • Design and Content workstreams: outline above, will be completed by mid-May
  • Define: OOUX (Object Orientated User Experience) in collaboration with internal teams to begin identifying the patterns users will use to navigate the site.
  • Define other: Finalise the Personas, IA for the site and initial set of Wireframes
  • Technical spec: defining the hosting providers and system

Next

We are now getting to the exciting part of the project where it starts coming together and near to the first phases of the build:

  • Proto-typing – when we bring together the Design concept, Wireframes and Content to test out the designs before build
  • Sprint 0 – this is a major milestone as it is when we will set up the infrastructure in readiness for the build

Regularly check in on the blog to keep up to date with what we are up to.
